Apprenticeships

Okalahoma Quality Child Care Apprenticeship Initiative The program worked to expand an infrastructure that is supportive of child care staff. The program trained journey workers (mentors) to work with apprentices in child care settings.

Organizations/ Coalitions

Center for Early Childhood Professional Development (CECPD) Created using federal child development block grant funds, the Center supports the individuals who work in licensed child care settings in Oklahoma by managing several initiatives and programs for professional development

Professional Development Opportunities

Oklahoma Registry. Recognizes the professional development of all individuals working in the early care and education field. Participation in the registry moves individuals up the Professional Development Career Ladder and allows them to qualify for stipends through initiatives such as R.E.W.A.R.D.

Tiered Reimbursement Rates

Oklahoma pays higher reimbursement rates to child care centers and family child care programs that are accredited by National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC), National Early Childhood Program Accreditation (NECPA), National Association for Family Child Care (NAFCC), National School-age Care Alliance (NSACA) and Council of Accreditation for Services to Families and Children (COA).


Wage Incentives

R.E.W.A.R.D. Oklahoma. Provides education-based salary supplements to teachers, directors, and family child care providers working with young children in child care settings.
