The National Women's Law Center has released a new report describing the latest unionization developments for home-based child care providers. Getting Organized shows how unionization has given home-based child care providers a stronger voice in tough times, winning some significant gains, averting some cuts, securing a role in making decisions that affect their lives and highlighting the importance of child care. And, in six states in which unions negotiated rate increases for home-based providers, the legislatures approved the funding needed to implement both those rate increases and rate increases for child care centers as well.
